A Window to the World of Wonder* by Ishita Pandey, a Class 11 student from Jayshree Periwal International School, is a captivating fantasy novel published by Maple Press in October 2023. It follows three courageous young women—Lily, Samantha, and Isis—as they embark on extraordinary adventures across magical realms. Lily, an ordinary teen, faces unexpected fame and survival challenges; Samantha, a mermaid, confronts mythical creatures in Chile; and Isis ventures to the ancient land of Amopia in search of her father, navigating dangers among dragons and magical forces. This tale blends fantasy with self-discovery, celebrating friendship, courage, and inner strength. Pandey’s imaginative storytelling invites readers to embrace the unknown and discover the hero within. This novel is a must-read for fans of magic, adventure, and inspiring narratives.

Dream Big, Fly High: 55 Journeys to Inspire Young Minds* by Ishita Pandey is an inspiring collection of stories aimed at dreamers of all ages. Written by Pandey, a Class 12 student at Jayshree Periwal International School, Jaipur, and published by Maple Press in June 2024, the book has sold over 1,000 copies within four months. It features 55 stories of individuals, from icons like Elon Musk and Malala Yousafzai to everyday heroes, all exemplifying resilience, courage, and determination to achieve their dreams. Through stories of figures like Helen Keller and Nick Vujicic, Pandey motivates readers to overcome adversity and believe in their own potential. With forewords from prominent leaders, *Dream Big, Fly High* is more than a book—it’s a motivational guide for anyone eager to transcend limitations and pursue greatness, reminding readers that any dream can be achieved with passion and perseverance.

Impact Projects

  1. Successfully raised Rs 70,000 to fund cataract surgeries for ten underprivileged individuals at SuVi Eye Hospital, Kota. In addition to organizing the funding, Ishita provided essential support for their postoperative medication and care, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their recovery. This initiative reflects her dedication to improving healthcare access for those in need.

  2. Organized and served 50 special meals for the abandoned elderly residents at Apna Ghar Ashram in Kota by inspiring her extended family and friends to make donations on special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. This thoughtful initiative fostered a sense of community and compassion, while providing much-needed care and support to those often overlooked.

  3. For the past seven years, Ishita has printed and distributed eco-friendly jute bags as a sustainable alternative during the Diwali festival, India’s peak gifting season. This initiative reflects her long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability by encouraging others to make greener choices during one of the country's most celebrated times.

  4. Managed the YouTube channel for SuVi Eye Hospital in Kota, creating innovative content to raise public awareness about eye diseases and share surgical videos with medical colleagues. Her work involved producing educational and engaging material, contributing to both community outreach and professional knowledge exchange.

The paper, Digital Storytelling in Activism: Transforming Voices into Movements by Ishita Pandey, explores the role of digital storytelling in modern activism, focusing on its capacity to amplify marginalized voices and mobilize communities. The paper also addresses ethical concerns, including misinformation, privacy risks, and performative activism, highlighting the need for responsibility in digital advocacy.

Abstract
This paper explores the fascinating journey of the IOL, beginning with its creation by Sir Harold Ridley in 1949 after a groundbreaking observation during World War II. From the early use of rigid polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) lenses to the development of today’s flexible, multifocal, and light-adjustable IOLs, this milestone underscores the significant technological advancements in eye care. The collaboration between industry leaders, such as Rayner Intraocular Lenses and Alcon Laboratories, has played a critical role in shaping the evolution of IOL technology. As we look to the future, emerging innovations such as smart IOLs and AI-driven surgical techniques promise to revolutionize the field further, enhancing visual outcomes and eye care management. This paper celebrates the enduring legacy of IOL innovation and its transformative impact on global ophthalmology.

Abstract
The brutal murder of a female pulmonary resident doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata has exposed the dangerous and often overlooked reality faced by female resident doctors in India. Overworked, under-protected and vulnerable to violence, these young resident doctors face extraordinary challenges in an already demanding medical profession. This article explores the systemic issues that contribute to the unsafe working conditions for female resident doctors, the prevalence of violence in healthcare settings and the urgent need for reform to protect those who dedicate their lives to the medical profession.

Abstract:

On October 10, 2024, Ishita organized a World Sight Day event at Jayshree Periwal International School, themed “Love Your Eyes Kids.” This event aimed to raise awareness about myopia and digital vision syndrome, which are increasingly common due to excessive screen time. Ishita promoted the 20-20-20 rule, encouraging regular breaks from screens, outdoor activities, and digital detoxes to safeguard children's eye health. She also highlighted the importance of balancing digital use with extracurricular activities to support overall well-being and prevent smartphone addiction.

Work Experience

Completed a four-week internship with the Energy Minister of Rajasthan, where I gained firsthand experience in public affairs. Observed and assisted with various aspects of his role, including public outreach initiatives, media management, and the evaluation of policy impacts on local communities. This opportunity provided valuable insights into the workings of government, communication strategies, and the importance of community engagement in policy implementation.

School Leadership

Played a pivotal role in organizing the IB League event at school, managing logistics to ensure a smooth operation while creating engaging and impactful experiences for all participants.

Actively engaged with junior students to educate them on recycling practices and the importance of proper waste segregation. I explained the use of color-coded bins for different types of waste, emphasizing environmental responsibility and fostering sustainable habits from a young age.
